SPECIAL SCREENING of THE QUEST FOR LOCAL HONEY

Saturday, February 25 @ 2:30 and 4:30

Filmmakers present for Q/A at both screenings.

Join The Quest for local Honey, shown in it’s full length. (Part One was shown at this years Wild & Scenic film festival)
The European Honeybee, a faithful friend and pollinator, has gone on strike. The media buzz around Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) alerted Nevada County honey enthusiasts to the stressors in the honey bee world.  What began as a quest for local honey comes full circle as they discover everyday people benefiting world wide bee survival. They explore the life & lore of honey bees and the challenges of beekeeping. From the mountains to the coast of Northern California, we’ll taste the hidden honey that keeps the juices of both the bees and the humans flowing.
The Quest is on!

Rhi Winders & Karin Meadows, Nevada County residents & honey bee advocates, are 1st time documentary filmmakers on a journey to discover the messages from the hive with The Quest for Local Honey.  Not filmmakers by trade, Rhi is a teen social worker offering therapy, yoga & digital storytelling groups in local middle & high schools. Karin cleans houses and is a seamstress, specializing in upcycled clothing. They now co-own Whirled Beet Productions, turning clients’ visions into digital media stories.
